The "Emerging and other communicable diseases" (EMC) division of WHO has become the "Communicable Diseases Cluster" (CDS). In this new structure, the WHO-Informal Working Group on Echinococcosis's links with WHO are with the "Animal and Food Related Public Health Risks" (APH) team, co-ordinated by Dr François-Xavier Meslin, that itself belongs to the "Surveillance and response" direction.
