Born in Crema,Italy 21.04.49, Liceo classico (secondary school specializing in classical studies) in Crema 1968, master degree in Medicine and Surgery in University of Pavia 1974 (july); during University stages in Stockolm Sweden, Innsbruck Austria, Mendrisio (ONPC) Switzerland. Specialization in Urology 1979 in Pavia after many stages in Innsbruck Austria by prof. Marberger and Prof. Frick, andrologist. Professional qualification for chief physician in Urology in 1986. Certificate of consultant in sexuology 1990, University of Brescia (Prof.Manara) Italy; Certificate of sexual therapist in 1992 University of Brescia. Urologist and sexuologist at the Tortona (AL) hospital from 1977 till 1989, since then medical urologist at IRCCS S.MATTEO Pavia Italy where I have been responsible of the urological ,oncological and androsexuological general consulting of the department. I’ve been interested in the field of sexuology since 1972 (neuropsychiatric cantonal hospital Mendrisio, Switzerland).As member of S.I.U. and EAU I’ve been participating to congresses and organizing congresses on sexual diseases since 1983, also at international level, in particular on neoplastic disease and stoma patients; I’ve been teaching in seminars of sexuology at the Specialization school of Urology in Pavia, in the courses of sexuology for the master degree in Medicine and Surgery of Pavia; from 1994 till 1998 I have been vice-president of SIRFS (Italian society for research and training in sexuology) affiliate to the World Association of Sexuology. Since 1999 I am a member of the committee of SIA. Since 2002 member of the SIA study group for sexually transmitted diseases, since 2003 nominated coordinator of the above mentioned group MST. I’ve been awarded with the prize F.Tronchetti at the V International Congress Therapy in andrology Pisa 24-27 march 2003. November 2004 teacher at the University of Milan S.Giuseppe Hospital for the Master degree in Andrology. Teacher at the master in andrology at the Specialization school in endocrinology and andrology in june 2003, march 2004, june 2005 (University of Pisa).
Collaboration in 2000 and 2001 with the l’Istituto Superiore della Sanità (Dr.Macchia) Rom Italy for research on the interrelation between drug use and sexual diseases
I’m the author of the text: “Educational project STD for secondary schools” distributed by SIA Trieste 2004.
And author of the charter “Prevention of STD” in the volume of prevention in andrology by Papini, D’Ottavio, Turchi 2006.
After resignation from Policlinico S.Matteo on December the 18th 2006 I work in consulting private practice and also on a voluntary basis by giving free androsexuologycal advices for teenagers in the province of Pavia and urological and andrological visits for people over 65 years old of the Pavia east district (see www.comune.pv.it). I’m working on a project of urological rehabilitation for elderly in collaboration with the Institute S.Margherita Pavia and the chair of geriatry directed by Prof. G.Ricevuti.
I participated as ESSM member to the first Course of Sexual Medicine of ESSM 14-28 July 2007 in Oxford (J.S.M: 1553-1558 vol 4,n°6,2007),ESSM Winter Sexual Medicine Specialist Training Course 23-25 november 2007in Lisbon,11-13 april 2008 in Rome (120 hours totally),I was also speaker and chairman at the EFFS congress on 13-17 april 2008 in Rome.
Author of the CD “L’andrologo a scuola” I.Bianchessi-M.Silvani distribution by Bayer-Schering Pharma AG at the XXV National Congress of SIA(Società Italiana di Andrologia) in Catania 10-13 Yune 2009,there I participated also as speaker and chairman.
